I’m participating in #JusJoJan hosted by Linda G. Hill and today’s word, “Passionate,” comes from Rosemary at Rosemary Carlson, Writer.
Just like the word from the other day, Boisterous, Passionate is an extreme emotion in my opinion. I am such an even tempered person that extreme anything is hard for me to wrap myself around sometimes.
However, there are some things that I truly am passionate about:
My family:
I would do anything for this group and that includes our extended family and friends as well. We may not always see eye to eye but we are the core.
Crafting: I love making things and sharing them with others. I love trying out new techniques, repurposing everyday objects and I love my crafting room.
Concert going: We went to a whopping 11 concerts last year alone. I am able to combine my passion for concerts with my passion for crafting in my scrapbook pages:
We’ve been lucky enough to see some great ones, include Tom Petty and Prince who are sadly no longer with us. We are waiting for this year’s “season” to begin.
Reading: I’ve been reading since I was a child and my first job was in the local public library. I read 22 books last year, not a lot by some standards but I usually only read at night before bed so I tend to fall asleep after a few pages unless it is an exceptional book. There were a few days that I took some time to sit on the back porch and read for a couple of hours and that was very nice. I’d love to have a house big enough to have a library room.

My book count went down to 36 last year, and I suspect it will decline again this year, cause work!
I think the smiley thing is good. That’s a benefit to yourself and others. It’s so much easier to navigate the world with a smile.
I’m passionate and so I don’t think it’s a bad thing. Takes all kinds 🙂

Absolutely, Joey. Passionate is a good thing, just don’t ask me to be boisterous about it 🙂

Janet,
I’m passionate about many of the same things as you. Family ranks the top of my passions, then my hobbies – photography & sketching, and blogging. Smiling does cause a ripple effect just like being nice to another person. Being a happy, positive person not only enriches ones life but it puts that ray of sunshine in anothers. Here’s to a passionate 2018, my friend! By the way, you always make me smile with your visits and your shares! 😀

Thanks, Cathy. It is amazing sometimes what a random act of kindness will do, right?

Thanks, Janis. It is always a work in progress but when our last daughter went to college I took over the room. I do have to share part of it with my husband and his baseball card collection but I’m hoping eventually to get the whole thing! My daughter took that picture of me to show me what “Snapchat” does.

Thanks Jill. I can work in there for days without stopping but my husband would miss me I think 🙂

Pocket tells me I read the equivalent of 53 books last year, so I guess I’m doing all right… Was that Nancy Drew on your bookshelf? I used to have all the Hardy Boys books. The old ones that weren’t politically correct.

Yes, John, those are Nancy Drew books. I have some of the original set and then some I picked up along the way. Loved them but didn’t read the Hardy Boys as much. I liked the female detective better until the Hardy Boys were on TV and then I had a crush on them 🙂

Oooh, I like you! We could be sisters! Except for the scrap booking part. I’d probably suck at that, but I’ve always wanted to learn to make cards. Well, anyway, I’m passionate about quilting, so it’s a little bit the same thing (cutting up fabric instead of paper and putting it all back together into something beautiful.) Stevie, and piano, and Foreigner and books – yup, we can be friends! Glad I found you! ~ Lynn

Hi Lynn! Always nice to meet a kindred spirit. You can make me a quilt and I’ll make you a scrapbook 🙂
