Today’s prompt from Helen is “drive.”
The first thing that I thought of was the Beatles and “Baby You Can Drive My Car” but I wanted to look for something a little different. Then I remembered Bon Jovi’s song from his latest album, “This House Is Not For Sale.” The song was a bonus track on certain CDs so maybe not everyone has heard it yet.
It’s called “I Will Drive You Home.”
“I Will Drive You Home”
There’s a new gun in town
There’ll be a faster one
Before the sun goes down
They’ve come to kick the tires
They’d like to take a spin
See how it takes the turns
See if it breaks or bends
But I will drive you home
I want you to know that
I will drive you home
Hell, it ain’t nothing new
Everything new gets old
Maybe some glitter’s gone
But we’re still good as gold
When some driver comes
And tries to jump the start
Thinks he can steal your love
Hot wire your heart
But I (I) will drive (drive) you home (home)
I want you to know that
I (I) will drive (drive) you home (home)
Let ’em rev their engines
Let ’em spin their wheels
All they’ve got is shine
They’re just chrome and steel
But I (I) will drive (drive) you home (home)
Here comes that faster fast
Here comes that higher high
As we walk on past
They just step aside
I (I) will drive (drive) you home (home)
I want you to know that
I (I) will drive (drive) you home (home)
Let ’em rev their engines
Let ’em spin their wheels
All they got is shine
They’re just chrome and steel
When they raise the flag
And the smoke has cleared
When the rest are gone
I’ll be standing here
I (I) will drive (drive) you home (home)
I want you to know that
I (I) will drive (drive) you home (home)
Let ’em rev their engines
Let ’em spin their wheels
All they got is shine
They’re just chrome and steel
When they raise the flag
And the smoke has cleared
When the rest are gone
I’ll be standing here
Let ’em rev their engines
Let ’em spin their wheels
All they got is shine
They’re just chrome and steel
When they raise the flag
And the smoke has cleared
When the rest are gone
I’ll be standing here
Here is the song:
What do you think? Are you a Bon Jovi fan? Thanks again to Helen for such an interesting prompt and go visit some of the other good sounds from today’s selections.

I always liked Bon Jovi & I went nuts over this song “It’s my Life”, but then I found out about the break up & I thought he should give him a second chance, but then again I don’t know the story, but they’re so good together. You know for the good of the fans kinda think & then I found out his political views regarding Hillary & that totally turned me off. Plus he’s really gettin up there in years & he’s slowed down considerably. I liked him lots more when he was screaming and bubbly. Oh well, time marches on as they say… ROCK ON!

Well, I think there are two sides to every story and it seems to me that Richie Sambora had some issues that were not healthy for himself or the band. We’ve seen them a couple of times without him and they were just as good. I like Hillary but I try to keep politics out of things so I don’t pay that much attention to who the musicians like (unless they like 45).

Yep, Bon Jovi fan here, too. Wonderful song, and I hadn’t heard it before. Thanks! 🙂

Very nice. I did not realize they were still putting out new albums. Good stuff though.

They are one of those “forever” bands. Richie Sambora is not with them anymore but they still sound great.

They sure do.

I do like Bon Jovi, but I honestly haven’t followed them much. I did like this song, though. Thanks so much for sharing!

I’ve never heard much Bon Jovi, to be honest. What I’ve heard is good (including this song) but I haven’t felt to take the relationship any further, so to speak.

I totally get that, John. I have a few bands like that too.
