Linda G. Hill is inviting us to share our Stream of Consciousness this Saturday with the word “Mean(s)”.
I don’t think I’m particularly a mean person. My family would say that I am insensitive to animals and they would be correct but I’m not mean to animals, I just don’t care about them.
Even when someone is mean to me…well, I can’t really remember the last time anyone was mean to me because I don’t hang out with people who are like that.
I don’t even think I could drive a mean bargain because generally I’m a softie.
Sometimes I wonder why I am doing this blogging thing. I mean is anyone even reading it? Then I think, “I don’t care, I’m doing it for the fun of it” and if someone reads my blog maybe they’ll find some meaning to it.
For example: This is what the sun looked like yesterday except the whole thing was bright orange like it is around the rim.

I’m with you on animals to a degree. Like, I’m all about animals rights, but personally, I don’t care for animals. I don’t really like dogs, even though we have two of them. I care for their well-being, of course, but I don’t have any emotional attachment with them like others do.

I’m so glad to hear you say that, Erika! I was thinking I was the only one who is not emotionally attached to pets.

You have a great blog, and I enjoy seeing your photos and reading what you have to say.
The news of the fires sound horrifying. I’ve not heard what set them off, if it was people being careless, or from lightning? Hope they are put out soon. I hate hearing of how much people have lost, including lives.

Thanks Barbara. Everyone is blaming someone else for the fires. There is talk of it being PG&E again with faulty wires. There were notices and phone calls to residents in the area to alert them about PG&E going to check on things but the fire happened first. The “45” says it is the state’s fault for not taking care of the forests and the state says it is the Fed’s fault for cutting funding…

You’re not yelling down an echo chamber with your blog. I know sometimes it’s hard to persist, but I see already your have commenters. And I can tell you have a kind heart, and I join you with thoughts and prayers for those affected by fire.
Thank you, Janet.

Thanks Marian! The fires are so scary. I was trying to think of what I’d plan to grab first. It’s hard.

I care a lot about animals, even though i do eat some of them, but I appreciate your honesty.

I don’t know what it is, Paula. I’m sure it has to do with my mom being afraid of dogs so we never had animals growing up. I just keep thinking that they are a lot of work and make messes…then again, so do kids and I had three of those. LOL. Thanks for stopping by!

You don’t seem to be a mean person to me and I’m glad that you write a blog. The pics of the sun with the orange rim are interesting. I’ve never seen anything like that around here.

It is very eerie, Ally. Like some sci fi movie for sure. The sky is so hazy and you can smell the smoke the minute you open the door.

No kidding? Are you anywhere near Paradise– or what’s left of it? So awful…

We are over 100 miles away! No danger to us except the smoke.

Still, that creepy enough! Stay safe.
