It’s been a week since I posted and if you remember, that was a quick post as we were on our way to a wedding:
We clean up pretty good don’t we? We are so matching! My nails match his shirt, his tie matches my dress, you’d think we do that kind of thing all the time, right? Probably won’t wear those clothes again for 5 years – LOL. It was a very interesting wedding and we had a good time. It was the FIRST time I’ve ever had the waiters came around with blankets for the guests since it was so cold in this venue. I actually wore my coat almost the whole time but I took it off so we could have this picture taken.
Then came Thanksgiving. We started it off by playing a game of Monopoly. FIRST time we’ve done that as a complete family.
The family photo.
All of which leads to our Song Lyric Sunday prompt, “First.” Thanks, Helen.
I was going to use the song, “First Time Ever I Saw Your Face” but someone else has used that. We are going to see Fleetwood Mac tonight, FIRST time without Lindsey Buckingham, who wrote the words to this song:
Friday I got travelin’ on my mind
First you love me and then you fade away
I can’t go on believin’ this way
I got nothing but love for you
Tell me what you really want to do
First you love me, then you get on down the line
But I don’t mind, I don’t mind, yeah
No one else that could ever do
Got to get some peace in my mind
Friday I got travelin’ on my mind
First you love me and then you say it’s wrong
You know I can’t go on believing for long
You only want me when I get over you
First you love me, then you get on down the line
But I don’t mind, no, I don’t mind, yeah
No one else that could ever do
Got to get some peace in my mind
It is interesting that I checked the setlist for this tour as I always do and they are performing this song. I guess he can’t stop them from performing it without him just like he performed some of “their” songs when he does his solo tour, and Stevie Nicks sings some Fleetwood songs when she does her solo stuff. Must have been written into their contracts. Anyway, here is the YouTube version:
Question for you all who participate in this song sharing fest, when you grab a link from YouTube to share, do you take from the artist/official clip or do you take from other people? I am always afraid that if I don’t use the official clip I’m violating someone’s rights. The scrapbook pages I made from one of the times we saw Fleetwood, this time was without Christine McVie.
I hope I can get some better pictures this time. Don’t forget to visit some of the other players in the Song Lyric game. Happy Sunday everyone!

As Joey said, I love the colour of your dress too. I’ve been to events where I WISHED they had given us blankets for the cold!!

You and your hubby DO clean up real nice! We tried to go to the movies the day after Thanksgiving. The movie we wanted to see was almost sold out (we couldn’t get 2 seats together), so we opted to wait. Maybe this weekend. Have fun at Fleetwood Mac!

We had a great time at the Fleetwood Mac show. My daughter got mad at me for taking so many pictures and videos but that’s what I do. It is fun to have a girls night once in a while and now that she is 22 I can relax a bit more and be a friend, not a mother all the time.

I love the pictures – all the smiles just make me happy looking at them. And YES you two clean up nicely ;-).

I’ve never made the distinction between an official music clip and a person who posts one of someone else. Interesting. I’m super conscientious about making certain I attribute quotes to the right person, but music seems different to me. If you can find it, you can use it.

I agree, but some people make money from their YouTube channels (something I am contemplating) and I’m not sure if I would rather them get the money or the “record” company – know what I mean? Mostly I just look for the clip that seems the best version.

Janet,
Yes, y’all clean up well! lol Here we are once again with the holiday season breathing down our necks. I just can’t believe how fast this year has evaporated! I don’t think we’ve ever been to the theater on a holiday. I’ve read on the net of those who make this a part of their tradition but it doesn’t appeal to me. Ever since we were turned onto home video rentals to now streaming video content we are completely content to watch from the comfort of our living room, never to miss a second of the film and can eat whatever we want. 🙂 I hope y’all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. It looks like y’all did judging by the photos. 🙂

Yes, Cathy, I agree about going to the movies. It can get expensive and we don’t go on a regular basis but one year we all wanted to see a movie that had just come out and so we went on Christmas Day. Everyone had such a good time that we did it every year for a few years after that.

Looks like you had a perfect Thanksgiving–all those lovely family faces. Your craft table is BEAUTIFUL. I’m so glad you did well and I know the recipients are overjoyed. Your cards and albums are so pretty! Dawn

Thanks Dawn. For some reason, even though I am an introvert, it is easier for me to engage when I have my products to show. I was very grateful for the sales to be sure.

Thanks Marian. Every once in a while I use a “catch up” type post. Hope it wasn’t too long!

As much of a Fleetwood Mac fan that I am, I am really surprised that I don’t remember this song. Great pick for today.

Thanks, Mary. It is from their first album together so it probably hasn’t gotten much notice in the past years. I have a feeling they are pulling out some not so familiar ones for their new tour.

I’ve gotten to where I prefer to use the “official” version or the official video on Vevo. For the older stuff, I use MusicProf78’s off-the-record versions.
I figure that as long as Mick Fleetwood and John (Mac) McVie are with the band, any other members are part of Fleetwood Mac. From what I’ve heard from The real Music Observer on YouTube, there’s been a lot of drama surrounding Buckingham and Stevie Nicks, at which point you just kind of put your head down and do your best to just enjoy the music.

Yes, definitely a he said – she said, although I prefer to believe Stevie’s version. I like Mike Campbell from Tom Petty’s Heartbreakers who is one of the two guitarists they got to replace Lindsey…he must feel some satisfaction about that, took two to replace his one.
