Today’s prompt from Mary by way of Jim, covering for Helen in the Song Lyric Sunday experience is Crying/sadness.
Decided to go with this from Prince. I know there was a lot of crying and sadness when he passed.
Of you and I engaged in a kiss
The sweat of your body covers me
Can you my darling
Can you picture this?
An ocean of violets in bloom
Animals strike curious poses
They feel the heat
The heat between me and you
Alone in a world that’s so cold (so cold)
Maybe I’m just too demanding
Maybe I’m just like my father, too bold
Maybe you’re just like my mother
She’s never satisfied (she’s never satisfied)
Why do we scream at each other?
This is what it sounds like
When doves cry
Feel how it trembles inside
You’ve got the butterflies all tied up
Don’t make me chase you
Even doves have pride
Alone in a world so cold? (world so cold)
Maybe I’m just too demanding
Maybe I’m just like my father, too bold
Maybe you’re just like my mother
She’s never satisfied (she’s never satisfied)
Why do we scream at each other?
This is what it sounds like
When doves cry
I’ve mentioned that we were able to see Prince once and it was a serendipitous event because I just happened to see that he was coming to a venue near us and was able to grab some tickets even though it was only two or three days away. I’ve heard that sometimes he did things that way, not announcing where he was going to be performing until the last minute. At any rate, now that he is gone, I am really glad we went.
They told us as we went into the show that ABSOLUTELY NO PICTURES were going to be allowed but I managed to sneak a few. Yes, this is the only time I am known to be “breaking the law,” when I sneak pictures. I am not obnoxious about it and truthfully some of the pictures aren’t even that good but there are a few that I consider special:

Loved the movie Purple Rain. I watched it while I was at home recuperating from jaw surgery. Here’s the video:
Glad that I managed to combine both prompts today. Love when it is serendipitous that way! Serendipitous is the word suggested by Jill to Linda for #JusJoJan.
Happy Sunday folks!

Way to sneak photos! I adored that song when it came out. Did you watch the movie too? I was a huge fan of Little Red Corvette too.

I don’t blame you, I’d have taken a few pictures, too. We weren’t supposed to at the last show I went to, but I took a couple anyway.

I figure that I pay (usually) a fair amount of money to see the show and I’d like to be able to do my scrapbooking about it. I’m not out to sell them or anything.

Sad for sure that he’s now gone. I’ve liked a lot of his songs, and definitely this one.

I would have loved to see Prince live. Lulu and I toured his estate in July of 2017. Trip of a lifetime. No pictures, they even locked our cell phones in little cases to be returned at the end. I did manage a few outdoor shots.
His space was magical. A few times during the tour, I had happy tears in my eyes. He helped a multitude of artists. Lots of folks don’t realize that. On the flip side, he was just a regular citizen seen riding his bike to the grocery store. ❤ your post!!!

Thanks Jill. I guess I was really lucky to have gotten away with the pictures because I heard later they were actually kicking some people out. Still, at the end of the show he told everyone to take their phones out and shine their lights and that was pretty magical too. From where we were sitting we could see him ride into the stage area on his bike. It was cool. So sad to see these guys go so young.
