August Break – 2019 – 5 Things About Me

I’ve done posts about myself before so I’m trying to think of new things, or at least a new way of looking at them.  Working from the top left down: 

1) I am a hopeless romantic and believe in knights in shining armor, BUT, I also believe that I can be Queen and not just a princess waiting for rescue.

2)  I’ve had the “Bill Loves Jan” sign for over 30 years and it sticks on the dashboard of all my cars.

3) We went on a helicopter ride and had a picnic overlooking the Grand Canyon for our anniversary a few years ago.  We stayed in the Excalibur Hotel which looks like a castle (see #1).

4)  I am a creator and absolutely love working in my new backyard studio.

5) I am a Pisces and I love the ocean.  I don’t get there as much as I’d like and that has to change.

    Sooo sweet! 🙂 I love the Bill Loves Jan sign! How cute is that? I haven’t even seen one of those label makers in YEARRRRRS! I would have forgotten all about them had you not brought that to my attention.

      That’s from back in the day when we were still romantic – LOL. Looking forward to recapturing some of that now that the kids are all grown and don’t need us as much. I think he still has the label maker – packrat much?

    I can write 3 things about me: 1. My sister is a Jan-Bill duo too 2. Your August mindfulness list looks a lot like my gratitude book. 3. My memoir Mennonite Daughter: The Story of a Plain Girl publishes in September, after 5-years’ labor.

    Brava to you for posting your “she-shed” video on YouTube, which I haven’t tried yet. 🙂

      Congrats on the book! Getting more short clips on YouTube is a goal of mine for this year. I am surprised how many Jan/Bill duos there are out there! Thanks for stopping by, Marian.

      I laugh every time at the look on the husband’s face. It took me a while to realize what she was saying -She-shier she shed, I guess meaning fancier, more elaborate, more she? I’d love to read your list, Jill. Thanks for stopping by!

    Hi Janet – I love your romanticism – the world needs more happily married couples who celebrate still being in love. I also have serious studio envy (even though I’m not creative at all). The idea of a girl cave is just so appealing for some reason.

      Thanks Leanne. I’ve seen lots of different uses for the “She Sheds” so you don’t have to be crafty. Just a sitting area to have a cup of tea and read a book in peace would be great too!
