So glad we get to combine posts on some days! Makes keeping up so much easier. For today’s #JusJoJan and #OLW I submit:
“What is waiting for me in the direction I don’t take?” Jack Kerouac
Interesting question, I think, although it could lead to a whole lot of “What ifs” and that might not be productive. I think one of Jack Kerouac’s books is on my scratch off chart. Have you read him?

YESSS! I loved On the Road and also Beat. I read a lot of them (English major) but those two stand out, very memorably. So good. Love the Beat poets, too.

I read most of “On The Road.” Never quite finished it; got about 90% of the way through it and decided “enh.” Truman Capote’s assessment of the book was “this isn’t writing, this is typing.”

Interesting. That’s the book that’s on my poster of 100 Essential novels to read. On the other hand, there are no books by Agatha Christie on that list so how essential can they be?

He’s one of those very famous authors I’ve never read. Maybe I’ll give it a shot.

“On The Road” is the book that’s on my poster so I’ll probably try that one first.
