Chris Isaak is helping me fill the “I” spot in the A to Z Challenge. We were looking for shows to help us keep our “Loyalty status” at the Mountain Winery and saw that he was going to be playing so we decided to take a chance. We knew a few of his songs but weren’t really huge fans. We were pleasantly surprised at the number of songs we actually did know and he is a very personable performer with lots of crowd interaction. We didn’t realize he has been performing for over 30 years!
In looking through my paper collection, I found this double sided set. It is not from Paper Wishes so I’m pretty sure I got it at either Michaels or JoAnn’s. It is K and Company brand.
After I started putting the pages together, I went with a completely different color scheme by using the back side of those same papers!
I’ve had this little beaded embellishment for so long and I thought it fit great here.
We were sitting close enough that my husband was able to sneak up to the stage and take a picture of the setlist!
I’m not sure what the numbers next to the songs are. Perhaps for the lighting or microphones?
I am taking a chance sometimes by stamping on the page itself. What if it smudges or doesn’t come out cleanly?
Fortunately it did. I guess I could just rearrange the pictures to hide it or add a different embellishment over that spot.
I just added some simple borders to these pages. More stuff that I’ve had around for ages.
I loved the butterfly on this page and had one that matched so I put it up on some foam tape to make it pop off the page.
Another thing I’m trying to use more of is my punches.
Of course I have a musical punch.
For the encore Chris came out in this suit that looked like it was a million tiny mirrors. I can imagine it being so heavy! It certainly was sparkly.
I did a little something with the guitar on the middle picture here.
Can you tell?
It is a clear Dazzle sticker that I put over the top. You can still see his hands but it makes the picture sparkle a little like his suit.
Here’s the final version as it is in the album.
We had great seats and I was able to get a lot of good pictures so this one has a lot of pages. My favorite Chris Isaak song is “Wicked Games.” He sang it in the dark and it was so cool. Here is “Baby Did A Bad, Bad Thing.”
I always thought that Chris Isaak was a country singer but actually they rocked it pretty good. He has been singing a lot longer than I realized too and his band has been the same all through the years. They looked like they were enjoying themselves too.
That’s it for “I.” Hope to see you tomorrow for “J.” No, it’s not Journey. I did them in 2017.
Yeah, he’s the best at doing that for me, especially when we are sitting close. Once when we were leaving he even asked the roadies for one of the picks that was left on a microphone but the guy said he couldn’t do it. 😦

Wow you had some great close-up seats! And your scrapbooks are lovely.

The detail you put into your pages! I like the photo of the set list. Nicely done, husband of Janet.

That sparkle suit is trippy – it looks like mirror tiles. Love your butterfly and beaded embellishment – you are a masterful blinger.

Thanks Deborah! I know I put more effort into some pages than others, especially during this time!

I love projects where I use up supplies I’ve had for a long time. Nice touch with the dazzle sticker. It’s a great fit. Weekends In Maine

Right? If I use it all up, I have an excuse to buy more 🙂

You’re welcome, Donna! He is one of those performers that kind of gets forgotten until you hear a song.

Weird: I know I’ve heard the name, but I can’t remember anything he did…

You know, he’s one of those guys. Been around a long time but not over the top famous. Listen to Wicked Games, I think that’s one of his most famous.
