As I thought, I’ve hit a snag. The good news is I have transcription work to do which means income. The bad news is I have transcription work to do which means less playtime. Fortunately I had drafted all the letters of the alphabet and some even have scrapbook pages that were done in the past so I will be able to share something for every day, it may not be the completed layouts. I’m okay with that.
For the letter “M” I’m using Steve Miller, who was another one of those happy surprises. We’ve seen him twice now and both times even though he wasn’t the headliner, his performance was better than theirs (note: It was Journey both times, not with Steve Perry though).
The first time we saw Steve Miller he was the middle act between Tower of Power and Journey. I was only going to scrapbook the pictures from his set but since I’m getting behind anyway, I may just wait until I have time to do the whole show. In any case, I chose this set of papers called Songbird from Paper Wishes. I know I will have to add some papers from my other stash because there won’t be enough to do it all but I’m pretty sure I can find some that will coordinate.
On this one I’ll probably use another stencil to fit them all in. I like this paper because there are birds flying all around, even though they are not eagles. Get it? “Fly Like an Eagle?”
Once I actually get the scrapbook pages done I’ll post an update because I’m sure you all want to see how they come out! Hope everything is going well for you all in this crazy Covid time. Stay safe out there. Take a peek at some of the other A to Zers if you get a chance. Don’t hate me because I can’t keep up completely!

Thanks Jill. I wish I could finish them all right now but I don’t want to just slap stuff together.

I bet they do put on a good show 🙂 I like the way you used circles and fantasy emblems. Excellent choices.

Thanks, Joey. Sometimes getting the paper and embellishments is the hardest part!

I’ve not seen Steve Miller in concert, but I’ve been past his mansion in Central Idaho. I know he was scheduled to be headlining a 50 yr anniversary event in Sun Valley, Idaho this year, but with all of the recent events, I’m not sure that’s going to take place. Sorry to be slow to visit. It’s been a busy week for me.

I never mind visitors whenever they get by! How cool to see his mansion.

Journey and Steve Miller sounds like an amazing concert!

It really was. The first time we saw him it was a show with Tower of Power, Steve Miller and Journey. The next time it was Doobie Brothers, Steve Miller, Santana and Journey!

Janet, this is interesting as a work-in-progress. I have been mostly to classical concerts, which are completely different. I haven’t heard of any of your musicians, but i’m still enjoying your posts.

Thanks, Sue. I have never been much for classical but I can imagine it is a lot more, shall I say refined? I can’t imagine people up in their seats dancing, but maybe they do? Glad you are enjoying the posts. Thanks for stopping by!

Yes, it’s more like theatre. I was told that you shouldn’t even cough! 🙂

We saw Frankie Valli at the Music Center at Sonoma State when my daughter first started school there and they said no standing or pictures, etc. I think the performance from the artists is hampered by a lack of energy from the crowd sometimes.

Janet,
The rose & mewsical notes paper is pretty. Abracadabra Steve Miller! Great mewsician share for the ‘M’ prompt. You do such marvelous work work with your scrape booking!

Thanks Cathy. Again, I was surprised a bit by how much more we enjoyed him than Journey both times.

If these times have taught us all something, it’s how to adapt. So shifting things and the amount of time you have free to play in the challenge are not things to worry about.

Thanks Deborah. I feel even more guilty because I am not able to visit as many people and leave comments. But, I’ll circle around when I have more time.

He is, or at least was, a hell of a guitar player.

Sometimes I like to take a break when scrapping pages anyway and then come back to it with fresh eyes. Good luck with the transcription work. Weekends In Maine

I agree. I have completely changed some things when going back to it if I leave it for a while.

The nice thing about blog challenges is that you can adapt them to your life! Now I’ll be singing Fly Like an Eagle for the rest of the day. Thanks, I think.

Hey, Ally, sorry for the worm, I think. I knew my task was going to be a difficult one so I’m glad I was smart enough to be prepared.

That’s great you got some transcript work. To have outlines Is even better lol… I have none 🙂

I learned from past A to Zs that being prepared with the letters in draft form is very helpful for me. I knew that my task was going to be a difficult one so if I had pages that I had scrapbooked before I put them in right away that way if I couldn’t get to the current stuff, at least I’d have something.

You may this look so easy! How do you know where to start? Is there a tutorial?

Thanks Felicia. Do you mean a tutorial for the templates? Yes, I’m sure there is on YouTube (look for Lea France stencils). I just kind of go by the pictures I have and what seems to work best. Maybe I’ll make a tutorial one of these days!

I’ve always liked their songs. Good set list, and that you’ve seen them in person. 🙂

I really liked the Shoreline Amphitheater (except when it rained). Don’t know who got me hooked on Miller – good tunes.

We’ve only seen it rain once there (see my post on the letter “H”) but we were under the tent so it didn’t bother us at all. It is a very nice venue.
