What’s happening to this year?? I swear I just turned the page on September and now over half of October is gone too! Let’s see what I’ve been up to…
We started the month with our last concert of the year at the Mountain Winery, John Waite and Pat Benatar. Fun night for these old folks.

Then the whole family got dressed up fancy and went to a wedding. Our son was one of the groomsmen. I danced.

I made a baby album for a customer and then I added some holiday items to my Etsy shop, including some glow in the dark Halloween cards.

And we had one last planning meeting before our 50th! high school reunion coming up this weekend. Sheesh!

Sometimes I think we’ve had more fun planning the reunion than we will have at the actual event – LOL. We are doing a three day weekend with a Friday night mixer at a local bar, Saturday dinner and then picnic on Sunday. It worked really well for our 40th so we just repeated it. Definitely going to need to rest next week! What have you been up to?

Time certainly flies. I hope you are doing well. Those holiday cards look great.
What book did you most enjoy this year?
May joy, peace, and goodwill be with you this season and always.

Thanks J Lenni. Sorry it took so long to respond, you were in the trash. Midnight Library by Matt Haig, Democracy Awakening by Heather Cox Richardson and The Help by Kathryn Stockett were some of my favorites. Hope you have a wonderful holiday!

The TRASH!! 😢 How do I avoid being thrown out? Not even recycled?

Hi, Janet – It’s wonderful to catch up with you here. I am totally with you on wondering how the time has speed by so quickly. Your holidays items in your Etsy shop look fabulous. You are incredibly talented!

Thanks Donna! I really don’t know where this year went. Hopefully next year will go a little slower?

That’s what I think every year — but somehow they seem to be going by faster and faster! 😀

Hi, Janet!
I dropped to say hello and let you know that I will soon be returning to the blog community following a break of nearly five months duration. I’ll have you know that Janet’s Smiles is the first site I am visiting as I slowly get back in the swing of things.
It’s nice to see that you and Bill were able to experience another live show staged by Pan Benatar along with another big name in pop rock, John Waite. Did both acts meet your expectations?
Great to see you all gussied up for the wedding. You were indeed the belle of the ball and you danced divinely. How was your 50th high school class reunion?
Thanks for displaying some of your Etsy shop offerings as we now turn the page and head full speed into the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.
I hope my buddy Benny has been well and in good spirits. I have thought about him throughout these five months. I’ll be giving him a shout-out in my upcoming post which will be published this Saturday, November 4.
Happy Halloween and have a wonderful November, dear friend Janet! – Shady

Hi there, Shady! So nice to see you back in blog land. I am honored to be your first stop! Hope your move went smoothly and that you are happy in your new digs! Benny has been fine for the most part. We did have a scare when he ate something funny in the backyard and spent a few days “out of it” more or less. It was like he was high because he couldn’t walk properly and just was very lethargic. We took him to the vet of course and fortunately all his lab work came out fine so it just took a few days for whatever it was to get out of his system. We think it may have been a peach pit because we have the peach tree in the backyard. Needless to say we don’t let him out there alone anymore!
I have been checking your site periodically over the last few months so thanks for the heads up to look on Saturday. I will be out of town at a scrapbook retreat but I will have internet so can still check on you!
We have one more concert this year, my fave Stevie Nicks, in December.
The reunion went very well. I’m thinking I’ll write something about it in the next day or two. Again, so nice to see you back my friend. Have a great rest of your week!

Hi Janet, I could have sworn I wrote a comment here several days ago! Maybe in the spam folder? Anyway, thanks for checking out my night shots. Looks like you’re having a fun-filled month. I love your crafts – especially the glow in the dark cards!

Have a fabulous reunion. I’ve only been to one and it was most interesting, as I’d lost touch with my school mates (it was a boarding school and we lived all over the world).

It was a fun time. We were able to see about 100 different classmates over the course of three days.

I’m hoping it turns out as well as the 40th. Otherwise they won’t ask me to help plan anymore – LOL. Is that a good thing?
