Q is for One Night of Queen

Unfortunately we never saw Freddie Mercury with Queen. We have seen Queen with Adam Lambert twice and thought they were great.

One of the offerings at the Mountain Winery was “One Night of Queen,” a tribute band. We love the music so we decided to check it out and honestly Gary Mullen and The Works do a really good job. While Gary does not 100% look like Freddie, he is almost spot on with his mannerisms and singing style. The crowd was really into it.

As I mentioned yesterday I am running out of space here so I am not including as many pictures but I wanted to add this video to show you why we love the Winery so much. A lot of the performers are like this where they go out into the crowd and sing with us. High fives are given all around and the venue is really so nice.

There was an intermission between Hammer to Fall and Flash. Gotta have time to get refreshments, right?

Okay. One more day to squeak through and then I have Sunday to try to figure out how to finish this A to Z without paying for more space. Also, my views are looking kind of wonky. I’m wondering if that’s part of the problem too.Hope you hang in there with me!

  2. I do know a few of their songs… but I just never kept up with the newer music. I stayed more with my 60’s music. I noticed you saying how you were running out of space… do you resize your photos before uploading? I didn’t in the beginning but then I heard how I should… and I always resize them.

A favorite band of so many generations. I love hearing my father-in-law singing the songs as well as my grandkids.

Queen is one of my favorite “classic rock” bands. I have to admit though that this guy does a good job, and the list of songs looks complete as well. Sounds like a fun night!

That is a nice venue! We also saw Queen with Adam Lambert and loved it. He did make a point of saying he wasn’t trying to replace Freddie, but was paying tribute. And he did a fantastic job of it! ❤️‍🔥

That’s a pain, having to worry about running out of space! Maybe you’ll need to delete some old posts? I use self-hosted wordpress.org and there are no limitations. I believe it’s actually cheaper in the the long run than using wordpress.com with add-ons.

Adam Lambert is a decent stand-in, but Freddie was a one-off. I didn’t get to see him either, so I’ll commiserate with you 🙂
