I had an issue with this show. It featured Peter Gabriel and Sting and I wanted to do Peter Gabriel for “G” and Sting for “S” but when I started writing it, everything was so intermingled that I really couldn’t break it apart neatly. I decided to put it here under “R” because it was the “Rock, Paper, Scissors” Tour. As you might imagine, it then required lots of moving around of other artists as I needed to switch 3 letters! All this AFTER the A to Z started! Good thing I had a weekend to figure it out.
Anyway, back to the business at hand, we started the night at that cute little place called the Louisiana Bistro. We have to find a new place to go before concerts at the SAP Center. There was one we were looking into recently but we couldn’t find parking and then decided just to go to the show and get something to eat there. Maybe next time.
Peter Gabriel is a little weird sometimes but it wasn’t too bad. I don’t know many of his songs except the ones from the album “So.” I don’t even know that many from when he was with Genesis since I only really became a fan when Phil Collins was in the group.

Same with Sting solo. Most of his songs I know from the Police times.

They did a kind of combination show and both performers were on the stage at the same time for the most part. They sang each other’s songs and songs from the groups they were in. There was a little banter back and forth.

It proved to be a very interesting show but I don’t think I’d add it to the top 20. In reality, we were walking out to beat the crowd before Sledgehammer was finished. Another week down in this A to Z challenge. Eight letters left. Can I make it? Have a great weekend.

Shows like that are probably better when you know both artists’ repetoire.

I get what you mean that you wanted Genesis and the Police but got the solos. I wasn’t much of a Genesis fan, but the Police – and Sting as a solo artist – I’d have been all for that. Sounds like a great set list.

It’s funny because I only really like Genesis after Phil Collins came. The stuff with Peter Gabriel is too out there for me. Police came around too but the tickets were way too expensive.

Interesting duo, I had no idea they performed together. More of Geneis fan than PG individually. I like Sting OK. I checked about ten songs off your list

I don’t know how many stops they made on this tour. It definitely was interesting.

There were a lot of songs I didn’t know but I know the people around me were singing!

I can’t believe all the shows you’ve been to. I don’t think I’ve been to a show since I was a teenager except for a couple of oldie concerts.

I don’t think I’d enjoy a mingled show like this one.āMaybe I would, but it sounds contrived more than creative.ā

Yeah, like I said it wasn’t in our top 20. I went for Sting, hubby for Peter Gabriel when what we really wanted was the Police and Genesis.

I hope you make it.āI like the fact that the challenge started on a Monday this year.āEach week frim the beginning we crank out 6 posts.āI think I would have liked aāPhil Collins Sting concert better.āMy look at holidays continues today with my disgust at a holiday honoring lima beans.āThere may be honor among thieves, and there even may be honor among legumes.āIMHO those who like the lima, don’t know beans.

I would have liked Phil Collins better as well. I’ll come and check your post but I’ll tell you right now I’m not a lima bean fan. LOL

“Rock, Paper, Scissors” is a fun name for a music tour.
Nice post.
