Welcome to the letter O in the A to Z Challenge for 2018. This year I am A to Z-ing my way through Michaels Arts and Crafts store. O is for Organization.
No matter what you need to organize, Michaels has solutions. From simple plastic jar containers like these,
to Mason jars in different sizes.
I use a lot of these plastic containers. They are perfect for organizing my scrapbook papers and embellishments by theme. I have one for music that I use for my
concert album for example. They are big enough to hold 12 x 12 paper which is not always easy to find. (Side note: My concert album was the subject of my last year’s A to Z Challenge. Click above to go see that!)
These containers can be used to organize a lot of different things. They have a tray on the top to hold smaller items.
All different sizes and shapes. These are from the scrapbook section again. There are organizers for washi tape and photos or ribbons and pens.
Most of the time I like clear containers to organize things because it makes it so much easier to see what is in there!
These are good for beads and small items.
Not to mention the baskets!
So many baskets!
These are like shoe box size to hold photos or other mementos.
They come in a lot of different pretty patterns.
They also have rolling carts. I love the rainbow colored drawers on this one.
I have one of these carts by my desk so I have things I use all the time right there handy. Since it is made of metal, I have put magnets on the sides to hold things like hole punches and tweezers.
And more specialized storage containers.
My personal favorites are the decorative boxes. They also come in all different sizes and patterns and change with the seasons.
These ones look like books!
And now they have desktop organizers too. Aren’t they pretty?
I have some of the decorative boxes and love to use them to organize things in my craft room. It makes it look so cheery.
Do you use special things to organize your supplies? Keep newspapers or magazines in a basket? Share and stop by the other A to Z members to see what their “O” is all about!
(Note: I decided I should add a disclaimer to these posts because I certainly don’t want to give the idea that I am being paid by Michaels to do this or that they are furnishing me with material. All pictures used in this blog series were taken by me at local Michaels stores, or are my personal pictures and every Michaels store may not have everything shown.)

I love organizational supplies. It’s my favorite thing. I’ve bought a few items at Michael’s although I tend to get most of my supplies from yard sales during the summer. Weekends In Maine

Yes, some yard sale things are cool to repurpose too!

Janet,
Our favorite things to use for organizing are the Sterilite stackable drawers and boxes. We have plenty of both to hold all kind of stuff but what we really need is a house with lots of closets and a basement and an attic and maybe an outdoor storage building to whip us into tip top shape. Of course, while we’re organizing our hordes we might find we can actually live without some of junk…I mean stuff freeing more space in the process. Hopefully, to not fill with new stuff that we won’t see again for years. Thanks for sharing and for your visit today to see my A2Z iPad Art Sketch of a big-eyed owl post.

I know what you mean about the junk (important stuff). I like the Sterilite containers too and have some of them throughout the house. I like the pretty stuff for my craft room!

As far as organizing in my house I usually use products that have been sent to me by shoplet.com for me to review, and being a retired paralegal & working in a office most of my life I have brought my habits home with me as far as filing, pencil sharpeners, pens everywhere, folders & file cabinets & more folders etc. Organizing anywhere else I’m still working on except for my laundry room that’s pretty well organized and my Christmas decorations is definitely stored & very well organized. 🙂 Have a great day my new friend! hugs I have a giveaway linky today too if you’d like to check it out or even add your own! GOOD LUCK! ALL IS WELCOME & DON’T FORGET TO PASS THE WORD! ~hehehe~ ~more hugs~ Truly I am a huggy kinda person! ~hehehe~

Its been a while since I regularly shopped for storage containers for my craft stuff, but I can see that the offerings have expanded, functional and attractive. This post as me thinking I need to improve some of my holdings. This theme has been interesting and WELL PRESENTED. Thank you, again.

Thanks Stepheny. I had a second thought at the beginning that perhaps it was going to be boring to people. I know that “crafting” is not for everyone.

For a while, ‘organization’ was my monetary black hole. I couldn’t find enough to organize my wild life. I’m better now!

I’m not big on baskets when it comes to organizing, but I do love the clear containers and decorative boxes.

I’m not really a basket person either, Jill. I feel like the things will get scratched inside.

[And again the system ate my comment. I’m beginning to think that WP is playing games with me.]
Anyhoo, I like baskets and pretty boxes– often purchased at Micheal’s.

Ooh I love the baskets and pretty boxes! I have some large plastic tubs for things to scrapbook, and they are full! By my desk here I have two of those 3 drawer rolling cart things, for my papers, scissors and things, plus all my coloring books and markers. I never have enough organizers! 🙂

The carts are so handy to have because they can go where you go.

I think of Micheal’s for decorative [not office] organization supplies. We have baskets around that hold the clutter and few of those pretty cardboard boxes to hide things in. I don’t have many plastic boxes though. Guess I’m good at stuffing things into drawers!

I am a drawer stuffer too, but mostly with my clothes. I need to see my supplies…out of sight out of mind! I’m going to have a talk with those WP people about making you a VIP visitor so your comments don’t get put on the back burner!

Well, if that’s where the system puts me so be it. If I know that I’m going into some kind of WP moderation I’ll keep commenting and assume you’ll get it eventually. Blogging systems can be so odd.
