Welcome to the letter R in the A to Z Challenge for 2018. We are winding down this journey through the alphabet as seen in Michaels Arts and Crafts store. There are a couple of things that will qualify for this letter.
The first is Ribbons.

Aren’t these pretty ones? They look like aquamarine but I’m pretty sure that a jar of aquamarine stones like this would have to be kept locked up! It is my birthstone and I know it isn’t cheap!
Even seashell type.
Do you have projects you need rocks for? A garden? Maybe I should think of some of these when it is time to build my gnome home!
Thanks for coming along with me so far. I hope you can continue to the end of the alphabet. Remember to stop by and visit some other peeps. Tomorrow is S. Can you guess what I’ve chosen for that letter?
(Note: I decided I should add a disclaimer to these posts because I certainly don’t want to give the idea that I am being paid by Michaels to do this or that they are furnishing me with material. All pictures used in this blog series were taken by me at local Michaels stores, or are my personal pictures and every Michaels store may not have everything shown.)

I consider Michaels a little like Costco or Target. You go in for one thing and end up with hundreds later!

Janet,
Ribbons and rocks! Great subjects to cover in a craft store. The ribbon I would’ve thought of but rocks escaped me totally. Very cool! And, oh what fun this all looks to a crafter!! Thanks for visiting!

Yes, some of the things are a given almost and that’s why I tried to stay away from the obvious like markers and paints but rocks was a little different.

Michael’s does have a great selection of ribbons, and I’ve bought plenty over the years. Of course the rocks always get my attention. I like the plain river rocks to do painting on!

I wasn’t even thinking about that but of course.

That’s a whole lotta ribbon going on there. Very pretty, by my goodness. A cat could have the time of it’s life playing with all of it.

I shudder to think what would happen if a cat got loose in that section!

Aquamarine is my birthstone, too! And I love ribbons. Love, love, love them.

I sometimes get the ribbons when they are on sale. I couldn’t believe how expensive some are. I think Aquamarine is the BEST birthstone π

Me, too–it’s so pretty.

I have bought gobs of ribbon over my lifetime. Mostly for hairbows, but also for presents and scrapbooks and other crafty things.
I have bought rocks, too. Got polished creek rock to put on my big plant’s soil, so if a cat did get to it, it wouldn’t be suitable for making. Used to have a lot of rocks, but Moo collects them, and she’s taken most of mine!
That faux aquamarine is super pretty. So pretty one could fabricate a reason to buy it!

I’m thinking it could be used to make a pretend pond in the Fairy Gnome garden right? Our youngest collected rocks too. Used to drive me crazy!

I’ll check my pending messages. Sometimes WP doesn’t remember that we are friends!

The only place with a bigger selection of ribbons is my local swap meat. I could spend so much time there, going through favorite ribbons. Of course, that’s only once a week and it is quite a distance. Michael’s (which is 5 minutes from my house) is much more convenient.

They do have quite a selection. I don’t use ribbon quite so much in my crafting.

Oh my word! I had no idea they carried so much ribbon. I have to think about the S.
