August Break – 2019 – Last Year

Our prompt is “Last Year.”  It was fun looking through the pictures I have from last year to put this together.

Not in any particular order – last year was:
a graduation from college, concerts and more concerts, trips to the Indian Casino, Reno, Oregon and our annual Boulder Creek golf tournament, seeing the full moons each month, the sunset over the ocean and the haze around the sun from the fires hundreds of miles away, baseball games and getting the announcers to give me a smile, more gray hair on my head,  a scrapbook retreat and crafting for the holiday boutique, my sketchbook in the Brooklyn Art Library, cleaning out the backyard and fireworks in the front yard, quitting my job at Michaels, making peach pie from peaches off our peach tree and homemade ravioli for Christmas dinner, and a double rainbow for luck.  We also went to two weddings, which I forgot to include!  Quite a year.  How was yours?

I’ve been trying to follow you on Instagram, but that system doesn’t allow me to make lists so I cannot keep track of the people who I want to follow. How am to keep up with anyone if all I get is an endless feed of everyone? More of a rhetorical question… but I think I must be missing something about how IG works. Anyhoo, great photo of your last year. I like it very much. How ‘ya been? 😊

So many algorithms on these programs! I am taking a course right now to help me learn to navigate them. So far so good here. We are having a heat wave. I was gonna comment on your post today but by the time I saw it you already had over 60 comments so I figured I wouldn’t be able to add anything new πŸ™‚ Even with my brief stint in retail, I can see the truth in your one-liner! Thanks for stopping by.

I’ve decided to unfollow some of the people I follow on IG because I’d like to have a small specific group of people who interest me. Maybe that way I’ll get to the *real* folks over there. I imagine that you can always add something new in the comments. I enjoy reading what you have to say, but I get why you passed. My comment section has a life of its own. 😳

LOL I’m not really retired, Jill. I still do my transcription business from home, although it is dwindling. I can’t really afford to retire yet. In fact, I’m looking into a job at our local library! The She-shed commercial is so funny, although for some reason my husband doesn’t really think so πŸ™‚

  3. I remember when you left your job at Michaels, Janet. Do you like being retired? I just saw the “She Shed” commercial and thought of you…LOL!
