Just Jot January – 2020 – and Song Lyric Sunday

Going to try and combine two topics today, Gravity from Linda’s Just Jot January as submitted by Zhenzhen and Song Lyric Sunday’s prompt from Jim being Bottom/end/middle/side/top.  I’m posting late because it has taken me a while to decide what song to use and I’ve been working in the studio on a new project.

For the song I chose Daughtry’s Deep End, from his album “Cage To Rattle” which came out in 2018.  It has a lot of good songs on it.  He is definitely one of my favorite performers.  His lyrics really have meaning and he sings them with such feeling.

Deep End
I’m underwater and I’m on fire
There’s nothing wilder than my heart
Just let the current set it in motion
Then nothing can keep us apart
We’re all swimming into the light
I want you by my side
And I’m right here waiting for you
Right here waiting for you
We’re all living on borrowed time
I’ve been holding my breath all night
Waiting for you
I’m diving into the deep end
And I’m not scared, I’m not scared
And I’ve been way over my head
And I’m not scared, I’m not scared, no
I am an island, you are an ocean
I wanna float here in your arms
High as a mountain, deep in devotion
There’s nothing wilder than your heart
We’re all swimming into the light
I want you by my side
And I’m right here waiting for you
Right here waiting for you
We’re all living on borrowed time
I’ve been holding my breath all night
Waiting for you
And now I’m diving into the deep end
And I’m not scared, I’m not scared
And I’ve been way over my head
And I’m not scared, I’m not scared, no
I’d follow you straight to the bottom
Not afraid, hell or high water
I wanna dive into you
I’d follow you straight to the bottom
Not afraid, hell or high water
I wanna dive into you
I’m underwater
And I’m on fire
And now I’m diving into the deep end
And I’m not scared, I’m not scared
And I’ve been way over my head
And I’m not scared, I’m not scared, no
I’d follow you straight to the bottom
Not afraid, hell or high water
I wanna dive into you
I’d follow you straight to the bottom
Not afraid, hell or high water
I wanna dive into you

We have seen Daughtry a few times, most recently last year at the Mountain Winery where I got a hug from one of his guitar players.

As far as the Just Jot prompt of Gravity, here’s Daughtry singing his song, Gravity, also from Cage to Rattle.

So there you have it.  Jotted and Sung 🙂  Happy Sunday all.  See you tomorrow.

Are those cross-hatch things on the pick(s) raised? Interesting way to keep from losing it in midsong…

  2. Janet would you believe that I have never watched American Idol? I guess I missed some good stuff because I like this.

I honestly didn’t know that he was still making music! 😂 I remember when he was on American Idol and I thought he was just sooooo sexy! And from your pictures that has not changed lol I don’t listen to radio any more so I have no idea who is making music lol

He is kinda sexy, huh! From what I read he is a very nice guy too. Certainly comes across that way at his concerts. I don’t listen to radio either so I didn’t realize he had put out 2 or 3 albums since the first one. Each one has some great songs on them.
