Okay, our task for today is to link the #JusJoJan prompt from Jim of Gobbledegook and his #SLS challenge of songs by Tom, Dick or Harry. Can she do it folks?
My song is “It Had To Be You” as sung by Harry Connick Jr. for the movie “When Harry Met Sally.” I haven’t seen the movie in a long time and I think I’d like to see it again.
It had to be you
I wandered around and finally found
The somebody who
could make me be true
Could make me be blue
or even be glad Just to be sad
thinking of you
might never be mean
Might never be cross
or try to be boss
But they wouldn’t do
For nobody else gave me a thrill
With all your faults I love you still
It had to be you, wonderful you
It had to be you
might never be mean
Might never be cross
or try to be boss
But they wouldn’t do
For nobody else gave me a thrill
With all your faults I love you still
It had to be you, wonderful you
It had to be you
While I was researching this song, I found another clip of his where he sang a song he wrote for his wife. How romantic. I think I’d have been a sobbing mess though. She handles it really well.
And then I found that he sang the song, “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious,” which is the biggest bunch of gobbledegook I’ve ever heard.
All this before 9 AM, plus I walked the dog. And you thought I couldn’t do it! Happiest of Sundays to you.

“When Harry Met Sally” was so long ago. Even at such a young age, Harry Connick Jr. was one smooth devil. π And I LOVE the song he performed for his wife! Lucky woman. He added a real New Orleans vibe to that last number; much different from the original. Thanks for sharing these fun tunes!

I don’t listen to him often but these songs seemed perfect for today! Thanks for stopping by.

Janet,
Harry Connick, Jr has a fabulous voice and I just love this song he wrote for his wife, ‘One Fine Thing’. I might have to download that one. Thanks for the introduction and visit over the weekend, darlin’. Have a good week!

I didn’t know he did the music from the movie. He looks so young there.

I almost did Harry too. I watched his performances when he was a judge on American Idol and several of his videos, but he wasn’t calling to me. Glad he called to you because I love his music.

It was a surprise to me. I have a couple of his songs on my iTunes and that’s usually where I go first for inspiration.

I loved your post Janet, Harry Connick Jr. is such a great talent. I did not even realize that It Had To Be You was in when Harry Met Sally, so I will have to watch that again. I only knew Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious from Mary Poppins, but this is a different song.
