Linda has given us the prompt of Last Call for today’s #JusJoJan and #SoCS combo. I had a call this morning from the Social Security Department. Since I am going to be on Medicare starting in March, this might have been a legitimate call but of course it wasn’t as the recorded message went on to say that there had been “illegal activity” with my Social Security number and it was going to be suspended. Of course I hung up.
We have also gotten calls from “Apple” telling us that there is a problem with our “Cloud” account and from “Windows” telling us that our computer has a virus. Really? Wonder if we should get a flu shot?
All of this reminds me of Lily Tomlin’s Ernestine character and I have to share:
Do you remember Ernestine? I had to stop listening or I’d have been sitting in front of the computer all day. Happy Saturday all.

Ernestine was so funny and I’m thrilled that we can still experience Lily Tomlin’s genius today on Grace and Frankie. I’ll have to start looking into the Medicare options pretty soon too… yuck.

They make Medicare sound so complicated. It really shouldn’t be.

Wasn’t she funny? Sometimes I hesitate posting stuff like this because it reminds me how old I am!

Ernestine is a hoot! Yes, I remember her, but vaguely, cause young. She’s much funnier now 🙂

There are a lot of little side digs that Ernestine does that make the whole thing so much funnier. I just binge watched the last season of Grace and Frankie. She’s still pretty funny.

Wait, why are you going on Medicare?! Is everything ok?!!
But I have also gotten those calls too! I’m babysitting today and my phone started ringing and it was a weird name and I almost didn’t pick up until I realized that it could have been a law firm name and the dad was at his law office. It was him lol calling to take our dinner order for Uber eats 😂

LOL I’m going on Medicare because I’m old, T. 65 in March. 🙂 You almost missed dinner!

and he would have left a message, he knew I was taking care of his children by myself, and it’s a 4.5 year old and an 18 month old. HAHA he knows the struggle is real.

There are a lot of fake calls that allegedly come from government agencies which actually come from a call center in Kolkata or Mumbai. Real government agencies send a letter.
Have you picked your Medicare Advantage plan yet?

I’m going to stick with Kaiser, John. Not my favorite but we’ve been with them for years so I don’t feel like changing. Now that my diabetes is reversed and I am not taking meds, I don’t see the doctor more than once a year anyway. This year I think I need a mammogram and it may be getting close to time for a colonoscopy too but other than that I’m good.
