Oh My! Now It’s October…

I just can’t make this time move slower, can I? October is here and I’m not getting any closer to my goals it seems. Anybody else having that problem? Maybe it’s because our Giants are in the playoffs so I’m still consumed with baseball. I don’t usually follow other teams much but now I am watching all the postseason games to see who we might face next. It is nerve wracking sometimes. We made it to the game before they clinched the West. Look at all the boats out in McCovey Cove waiting for a home run to come. Yes we do have a woman coach on our team, the first in MLB!

Our first job is to put a lid on the dreaded Dodger’s season! Not going to be easy but I have faith in my guys. Thanks to Linda for the #SoCS prompt of “lid.” Have a great weekend all.

I’m not making progress on my goals either. Well, maybe a little progress on some, but others not at all.

  2. It’s so fun to see your smile at the baseball games and music events! WOW – that’s a lot of boats having fun too. Cheers to you and your team and to October, you still have 21 days left. Isn’t that how long it takes to make a habit ;-)! Happy October to you and yours!

Hi Shelley – That’s what they say about habits. Sometimes it works for me and sometimes not. Guess it really just depends on how much you want to do the thing you’re trying to form into a habit. There are A LOT of boats in the cove on game days. I’m surprised there aren’t more accidents out there.

      • I’m with you on sometimes the attempt to create a new habit works and other times it doesn’t. A great book on it is called The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg (note – I’ve read a couple of times and still struggle with new habits – but, 2020-current seems like a plausible reason for any inability to change things!) Changing to Keto has been a win – are you still rocking it?!

I stalled on Keto (not stopped but was not as careful – low carb tortilla wraps were too tempting) and gained back about 18 pounds but a few months ago I found a Keto app that I really love. It helps me count my macros and I’ve lost 9 of those. Hoping to get back to at least where I was by the end of the year so I can concentrate next year on the last 20.

      • Yes, it’s easy to stall and slide. Tortilla wraps get us all. We found a very cool recipe for zero carb pasta that my husband made this week. It was delightful to eat pasta again and not worry about the carbs.
I wish you much strength and perseverance so you reach your goals!

I saw that on your Instagram. I found a Healthy Pasta from Costco that is good.

      • We don’t have a Costco here. 😦 Glad you’ve found some pasta that’s healthy!!!

Our Chicago White Sox made it to the playoffs!!! They need to win a game already… They are down 2/0. If they lose tomorrow, they go home. My boys will be so sad 😞!!!
