Typically it takes a few days to get back to the blog habit after the A to Z is over. I have to catch up with all the other projects I have that I let slide during the month. I REALLY have to prepare better next year because I end up missing the opportunity to make Mother’s Day things to sell in the Etsy shop. This year I only had time to make some cards and a couple of the exploding boxes.

I also had to get ready for another pop-up craft show which happened on May 7. For that I made some more birthday cards as well as some other all occasion cards.

It was so windy! I couldn’t display all the cards the way I usually do because they would blow all over so I had to keep them in boxes. I didn’t make a lot of money but managed to at least make the $25 it cost for the table space and tenting plus a little more. As always though I learn things with each show and this time I got to use my new banner!

And last but not least, I have been seeing some really gorgeous skies lately. The top three pictures are all from my front porch, all on the same night in the space of about half an hour. At first was the yellow burst, then came the orange glow and finally the gray almost storm clouds. It was amazing. The last two are from the next night at my son’s softball game. I just marvel at the way God plays with his crayons and paints, don’t you?

And now it’s time to start work on Father’s Day things. I have a couple of boxes and some cards in the works and they’ll be in the shop soon. What have you been up to?
How fun to see your booth and products. Sorry the weather wasn’t as cooperative as you might have liked. Wind can be a real problem – here in the Windy City I’ve seen craft tents blow down and art go flying. I love those gorgeous sky shots. And I’m betting you’ll have a full moon/eclipse photo or two to post later as well.

LOL how well you know me. Actually it was my daughter who captured the best moon shot last night. It was REALLY hard to get one. I’m going to try to get the moon again tonight. Hopefully we won’t have a cloud cover.

You are one busy lady!
Glad you got to sell some of your cool boxes! Looks like the motto of the fair was “Gone with the Wind” 😉
Love your sunsets.

Lol Gone with the wind is right! Sadly, I didn’t sell any boxes. I couldn’t show them off properly and they were actually kind of hidden. Next time!

Beautiful beautiful cards. To go with those beautiful skies. He marvels me every day with His colors in life. I need to get to your store. I was looking earlier but everything I clicked on was unavailable. I will get back over there and look some more. I LOVE the piggy birthday card. Do you have a piggy HELLO …or thinking of you? Also the exploding boxes are awesome… I’ve never purchased one, but may have to. Do you do like grab bags where you pay $25-$30 and get an assortment of randomness? I would be interested in something like that if you do.
Cheers,

Barbie, I am so sorry it took me so long to respond. Your comment was in my trash and I have been really sick for the past week. Just a cold but it knocked me flat. I do have grab bags in the “Supplies” section of the shop. They are packages of papers and ephemera for $5 each.

I may be making some with ribbons and things too since I have so much stuff that I never use. I don’t have any Hello cards with pigs on but I’ll check and see if I have any more piggies to use to make one. Thanks so much for the interest. I’m making Father’s Day boxes now. I have another show coming up this weekend.

I would never have thought about how wind could impact your sales, but of course it does. Happy to see you back to blogging, love the photos of your skies. Tres beautiful

Thanks Ally. Yes, the wind is definitely not my friend at outdoor sales. I have to be really careful. A lot of my cards are interactive and you can’t tell that from the way they sit in the boxes. I wonder what I was looking at before because it’s only been in the last two or three years that I’ve been noticing such gorgeous skies. Must not have had my head in the clouds – LOL.

That’s the problem when you put all your focus into one area, other stuff suffers. I admire those who can post their way through A2Z, writing posts as they go. I have to get as much prep done in advance or something else has to give.

I so agree, Deb. Much planning is needed for me to be able to get it all in!
