One more post is probably all I’m going to be able to get out this month unless something spectacular happens that I just have to share (like if I won the lottery or something).
But I happened to be reading a post from “the other Janet” about her Lens-Artists Challenge so I decided to play along because I think I’ve taken a few unusual shots. The theme is “Overlooked” and it is to show some photos that may look different than what you would expect to see. Here’s my take:
This is a reflection of the tail light of my husband’s truck in a puddle by the curb.
There is a window on the side of our house overlooking the driveway. It is close to the roof of the garage. It has a screen on it but we have numerous stray cats and a few raccoons that like to rummage around and I think they use the screen to get a hold up.
Was walking our dog, Benny, the other day and saw this on the sidewalk. I’m not sure what it really is, maybe some paper that got wet, but to me it was a friendly ghost.

I’m always looking at the sky and I see cotton candy here.

This building has an unusual shape. Because of our earthquakes, it looks like it is in the middle of one.

Finally, again while out on my walks I have to keep an eye out for these critters so Benny doesn’t get his nose bit!

I hope I’ve followed the rules of the Lens-Artists Challenge. Make sure to go see Janet’s pictures too. They are cool.
And I’ve also managed to get into Linda’s Stream of Consciousness Saturday with one/won! Have a great rest of your weekend!

Fab clicks.

Thanks Philo! I’ve been trying to look for gems like this along my walks with the doggo.

Welcome – and such a delightful start! Love the poor screen, and the critter of course, but also an interesting building, and…well, I love them all.

Thanks so much. It is amazing sometimes what you can see when you really look, right?

Not only does it work for Janet’s challenge, it’s a wonderful display of often-overlooked kinds of subjects! The screen of course as mentioned by many is a great catch, and the little critter at the end as well. Thanks so much for joining the fun this week and a warm welcome to our challenge.

Your two-for post makes me smile. The screen photo is cool. I’m sorry you’ll have to replace it, but it makes for a great photo. I can’t believe it’s almost the end of July.

Right? Not sure how soon the screen will be replaced as I’m sure it will keep happening and we don’t open that window so no bugs will come in.

I was sure your first photo was a butterfly. What a wonderful capture. The screen was so beautiful that it is worth the cost of replacing it–if you ever do. You have a great eye.

I think cell phones have helped as I always have a camera close at hand.

These are perfect for the challenge, other Janet. I love the reflection of the tail light and the ruined screen, while not being good for keeping bugs out or for the pocketbook to replace, makes a beautiful piece of art. I can see why you saw a ghost on the pavement, one that appears to be smiling. Casper the friendly ghost? The photo of the building made me smile because there was an office building in Naperville that not only had offset bits like your but was an unusual color. I always called it “the funky building.”
Thanks for participating. I enjoyed your shots!

Hi, Janet! It’s been awhile. Hope all is good. Love the photos, especially the stringy looking screen? Talking of raccoons, my daughter got a picture of one here in town the other day. I didn’t even know there were any around here.
That building is very strange looking. 🙂

We have raccoons around a lot. They get in the garbage and play in the backyard. I thought that building looked pretty unusual. Things are okay here. Taking care of the MIL keeps me busy!
