Kool and the Gang were the opening act for Van Halen. This was one of those concerts that my husband wanted to see more than I did. I’m glad we went though since Eddy Van Halen is gone now.
I enjoyed Kool and the Gang more than Van Halen I think. They really had the place up and rocking. This has also made it into the scrapbook.
I mean, who can’t dance to Celebration? No video today, sorry.

Kool and the Gang 😎 I had no idea they still perform! i used to love them as a teenager, and now my teenage son does, too. The other day he learned that the first class early in the morning was gonna be cancelled, and he kept tapping on his phone. “What are you doing?” I asked. “Just wait” he said. A few seconds later he played “Celebrate… Good Times… Come on!” Hahahaha.
I’m surprised “Cherish” is not on the list?
I am a huge fan of Van Halen’s JUMP, so I’d probably have enjoyed this concert as well.

I love when the kids appreciate “our” music! I like Jump too. There were a lot of spots in the show where David Lee Roth just talked too much. Sing the songs already! I don’t care about your past sexual relations or your dog!

When we’re cruising, we always dance to that song. I’d love to have seen both groups!

I could totally see this being played on a cruise. Have you ever done the Rock and Roll cruises?

No, we looked at one a few years back so super expensive plus you had to pay extra for tickets to the shows by the headliners.

Well that’s not fair.

I am often surprised by the great opening acts we get to see when we are really going to see the headliner.
