And so we begin week 3 of our A to Z challenge! Seems to be going pretty well so far. I haven’t noticed too many new visitors but I haven’t actually been very good about searching out new ones myself so…
Today we have Mariah Carey. She is definitely not someone that I would pay to see on her own but she was the opener for Lionel Richie, who I love!

She didn’t change my mind about her, still not someone I’d go see more than once. Fun fact though, just as she was starting to break out in the late 80’s early 90’s my husband was working at a local Warehouse Records and she came in to promote her album. I did like her red dress. No video today. Guess I was saving my batteries for Lionel.
- Date: 7/21/2017

- Setlist:
- Love Hangover/Heartbreaker
- Shake It Off

- Don’t Forget About Us
- One Sweet Day

Honestly, the only song I remotely knew was Hero and the Christmas one, which she sang only a snippet of, and Love Hangover which isn’t even her song! Still, she helped me fill a letter in the A to Z so there is that! Happy Monday all.

I use the master list each year and go to all the blogs. I try to comment if I can. Some for the links this year have been broken. A few have had comments off completely.
I’ve been better at the blog hopping then responding pn my own this year. I like Mariah Carey š I wish I could do this and go to concerts… Im ok open air usually it’s that usually part. I live vicariously through others š

I appreciate all my comments and there aren’t that many so I always try to respond. It is my pleasure to share so you can enjoy the concerts too – LOL

Is that the same Oakland Coliseum that the soon-to-be Las Vegas A’s call home, at least until the end of this year? I know you’re a Giants fan, but how do you feel about all that?

There are two venues on that land. One is the baseball field and the other is an indoor arena where the Warriors basketball team used to play. I thought they were going to close that too when they built the big Chase Center in SF down the street from the Giants but they have still had some concerts there. I feel sorry for the A’s and their fans.āIt has been a good cross town rivalry. Now that both the Warriors and the A’s are gone, it’s kinda sad. The A’s stadium did need some major renovations I understand. I haven’t been to too many games there.

I like Mariah Carey, but I am very surprised about the choice of songs. As you are saying, most of them, I’m like WHAT? I know the two you mention plus “Vision of Love”.
I associate “Shake it off” with Taylor Swift, not Mariah?
Will you write about Lionel as we come to the letter R?

I was thinking about Shake It Off with Taylor Swift too! I wrote about Lionel before so no, he’s not my R this time. The link to that is in this post.
