U is for Understanding over Ugliness

My theme for this year’s A to Z Challenge is the A to Z of Democracy. This is your trigger warning. If you are going to be bothered by my descriptions of what I believe America should look and feel like, please stop reading and come back next year when my topic may go back to music or scrapbooking or interesting tidbits. Please respect my space and DO NOT leave disinformation or inflammatory statements in the comments. It’s my blog and I will delete them. Thanks for your cooperation.

I am not sure what happened to all the compassion and understanding we had for our fellow humans. It sure seems that the members in congress that are in control now have lost all sense of that when it comes to passing the laws that will enable people to have affordable healthcare, help when they need it like Medicaid and even the help that Ukraine and other countries need during their difficult times.

Instead we get masked goons coming into our cities and terrorizing little children. We get concentration camps where who knows what is going on. And to be told lie upon lie upon lie is just offensive to my intelligence.

I’m from the SF Bay Area. Can we please just have some more peace, love and rock and roll?

As always, credit goes to Speaker Hakeem Jeffries who gave an impassioned speech on the floor of the House of Representatives at the beginning of the 218th congress.

We keep hoping things will get better but they keep getting worse. And now I read something on the news claiming there are chemicals in wildfire smoke that may make some people more violent if there is prolonged exposure. This apparently has real science backing (from what I can tell, and it’s so hard to trust anything in these times) and if it’s true, we are really in for some bad times ahead. • I haven’t read anything about the chemicals in wildfire smoke but it sounds like something that could be possible. I hope the demos are finally waking up and realizing that we have to stop being so nice and actually do something about these things when we get the chance!

I hope this horrible cycle we find ourselves in ends and a new positive cycle begins soon. This can’t last forever.
