My theme for this year’s A to Z Challenge is the A to Z of Democracy. This is your trigger warning. If you are going to be bothered by my descriptions of what I believe America should look and feel like, please stop reading and come back next year when my topic may go back to music or scrapbooking or interesting tidbits. Please respect my space and DO NOT leave disinformation or inflammatory statements in the comments. It’s my blog and I will delete them. Thanks for your cooperation.Β
| Zealous Representation | Zero Sum Confrontation |
| Working hard to represent the people who elected you. | One side wins, the other loses. Not cooperating even when mutual benefit is a possible outcome. |
Zealous representation is exactly what we need right now and sometimes I don’t think we’re getting it. I guess it is hard to get over the feeling that we need to “play fair,” especially when the other side is so dishonest and unprincipled. I wonder where we would be at this moment if Merrick Garland and the Department of Justice had prosecuted #47 and his cronies for what happened on January 6, 2021. What if congress had done it’s job and impeached him at that time? He would not have been able to run for another term.
Instead we have a heads I win, tails you lose situation going on. The congress people can’t seem to agree on anything that will benefit anybody other than #47 and his rich friends. How much lower are we as a nation going to sink? How many more rights are we going to lose? We have to take back some control in November.
As always, credit goes to Speaker Hakeem Jeffries who gave an impassioned speechΒ on the floor of the House of Representatives at the beginning of the 218th congress.Β
And there you have it. Made it through the A to Z Challenge this year. Next year I’ll go back to something a little lighter. Thanks for hanging out with me.

Or what if being found guilty of felonies meant someone went to prison. Remember when there were consequences?
Anyway. I live in Pennsylvania. Your post here… this state doesn’t have a Democratic Senator. We, thankfully, still have a Democratic Governor who fights hard to preserve democracy, and a few decent people in the House. But there’s a Senator who has turned into the opposite of who the people elected. It’s rough.
Is it November yet? Place your bets now, because there are probably already lawyers doing paperwork to fight the election results of this state, again. The judges you-know-who appointed were begging last time for a shred of evidence, absolutely anything, to invalidate the election results. (Other than, you know, someone whining and crying on social media. Actual evidence. Any. Any at all. One faked ballot. Just find one! Case got tossed out because they couldn’t prove any of it. Free and fair elections won.)
Imagine if the Supreme Court cared about voting rights.

Hi!! Sorry for the late response. Right after the challenge ended hubby and I went on a cruise and then got sick so I’m playing catch-up. Fetterman!!! I even donated to his campaign in the beginning. I do kind of think that if the consequences had started on day 1 of BIDEN’S presidency we might not be in this situation but…there we go being the nice guys again. Hopefully this time around we’ll have more determination not to let this stuff happen again. I appreciate your kind comments, J, and will go visit you now!

Well done, despite illness. Taco’s quip about King Charles getting Democrats to stand which had never been able to do said it all

Janet, I appreciate you speaking out on things that matter this month. It is good to know we aren’t alone in our resistance to the madness that seems to have gotten our nation under a spell.
