Rocktober Music Fest – 2019 and other October Oddities – Big Love

It’s Day 10 in the Rocktober Music Fest and I’m going to keep it simple after yesterday’s sad post.

Fleetwood Mac has been around for a long time and anyone who follows them knows that Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham have had an ongoing “relationship.”  At first it was as a couple and when that didn’t work it was a “strained” relationship at the very least.  It got so bad that Lindsey is no longer with the group.

We saw him perform at the Palace of Fine Arts last year.  He is one of my husband’s favorites so we splurged and for the first time got VIP seats.  No “Meet and Greet” but some other cool swag:

They wouldn’t let us take pictures and I almost got in trouble with one of the ushers but I managed to sneak this one.

A scrapbook page I made from one of the times we saw him with Fleetwood.

Shortly after we saw him he had to have emergency heart surgery.  They said that he may not be able to sing again.  I saw online that he recently performed at his daughter’s high school graduation.  Bet that was an emotional experience for both of them.  The clip only shows him playing the guitar.

I’m sending you some “Big Love” by way of Mr. Buckingham from 2013.

Have a marvelous Thursday.

While I like his solo tunes, Big Love is the only one I’ve purchased digitally ๐Ÿ™‚ Fleetwood Mac, on the other hand, I have 30-40 ๐Ÿ˜‰

Yes! Alone his style is not really my cup of tea either and while we did get a free copy of his latest album with our tickets, I would not have gone out to buy it and don’t think I’ve listened to any of it!

I agree with Jill – you rebel, sneaking photos. Nice job, and a great song too.

  3. Hi Janet! You had me at “smiles!” And Lindsey played locally where I live but I didn’t see him. Darn. I wish I had now. Thanks for sharing a bit of your experience with us all. ~Kathy

I hadn’t seen or heard is solo music before, as most of my recollection is of him with Fleetwood Mac. I do remember this song, but for some reason I didn’t remember it as being his. Thanks for sharing this moment with us.

  5. You rebel…sneaking photos! I always liked Fleetwood Mac. I saw them once with Foreigner, after their hay days. Foreigner sounded like an LP playing on the wrong speed…not good.

Interesting you should say that, Jill. Foreigner is one of our most favorite bands to see live and we catch them almost every year! Yes, I am kinda obstinate when it comes to picture taking because we pay a lot of money to see these folks play.

      • Maybe they were having a bad night…this was probably 25 years ago. I just remember when they sang Hot Blooded it sounded like it was in slow motion. You’re not kidding about ticket prices these days…crazy!

Good song… I liked the part where someone yelled “PLAY THE SONG!” and later, “this is what I paid my sixteen bucks for!”
