While we go to lots of concerts, I consider shows that we see in a theater musicals. Menopause the Musical was one of my favorites but I went with girlfriends. I suppose you could still call those dates, right? Hubby and I have seen Rain, the Beatles Tribute, Jersey Boys and Rock of Ages. They were fun. Wish I could have taken more pictures but they are not usually allowed and in a theater it’s a lot harder to sneak than in a concert.

We’ve been to a few museums too. When we went to Oregon a couple years ago, in addition to the Lava Butte we saw the High Desert Museum and stopped to check it out. We didn’t go inside but around the entrance were some very interesting sculptures. The Wax Museum at Fisherman’s Wharf is a fun time too. That’s another place we haven’t been to in a long time and they probably have a lot of new figures. The De Young Museum had a Summer of Love exhibit where they were showcasing the San Francisco hippie days. I think my jacket was a perfect one to wear on that day. I fit right in with the times. Definitely have lost a few pounds since then!

No pictures here but miniature golf is another great date idea in my opinion. We’ve gone a few times but since hubby is a “real” golfer, he says that playing mini golf wrecks his game. I’m not sure about that honestly but whatever. Personally, I just think that he doesn’t want to get beat by me. LOL.
One more day this week and then a day of rest. I’ll be visiting as many new folks as I can over the weekend. Appreciate all the visits I’ve had from folks so far. Happy Friday.

Just scrolling through some of your date posts and OMG you guys have way too much fun. I love the matching sweater for the Summer of Love, how awesome. This has to be one of your best themes…although I did like the scrapbook theme too. I wish I had more time to spend reading ALL of the posts. Just wanted to stop by for a quickie. Cheers,

Thanks Barbie! i know it is hard to hit every post. I am getting to the point where I am just “liking’ a lot instead of commenting.

I haven’t been to musical theatre in far too long, but it would never be a suitable date due to Himself’s hearing issues. But museums – yes, we both love ’em, the smaller and more arcane the better š

Love going to plays, so many things we don’t (My wife and I) do anymore since Covid.

We’ve just started going to more places but only because they require proof of vaccination to get in.

I use to play mini-golf all the time growing up but only go occasionally now although I do enjoy it. When visiting my Dad in Florida, there was a really elaborate mini-golf course which was a lot of fun. I love the ones that go all in on a theme. Weekends In Maine

We love dates at museums — usually combining it with one of your L dates, lunch! One of the things we had to learn about each other is that we go through museums at different speeds. I adjusted to my husband’s slowness by going quickly through each new room and then, returning to my favorite items more slowly — sometimes even taking notes because I can count on having plenty of time.

I like your adjustment idea. There were definitely different things that interested my husband and I at the Summer of Love exhibit and, yes, lunch afterward is perfect.

The last musical we saw was Jersey Boys and loved it. I miss musical theatre. I haven’t been miniature golfing in years. Great idea/

Did you see the movie and which did you like better? We saw the play 4 times and I’d definitely see it again. The movie was good but something about the live action was more exciting.

We never saw the movie, just the live show. It was in Vegas, so it was over the top!

We’ve done so many musicals in New York city… such fun. I think those days are over now as I don’t think I’ll feel safe there anymore. Sad… as it was so much fun going in by train.

It’s interesting about not feeling safe anymore. We take the train or BART to the city when we go as well but haven’t in at least a year.

It’s amazing the things we have so close that we don’t take advantage of. I’m going to try to get out there more!
