U is for Underwater, Unplugged, Unplanned

Okay, I really may be stretching it with the letter “U” but what the heck. I have no pictures so it’s going to be a short one too.

Underwater activities like snorkeling or scuba diving might be a fun date. We’ve never done them but anything with water always grabs my attention. I know there are some beautiful things you can see underwater.

Unplugged is something that works in these technological times. We always have our phone at the ready even if it is just to look up something that we’re talking about. In the olden days, there was no such thing so putting the phones away and just communicating is a good idea once in a while. Especially now that the kids are grown and we don’t need to be so available to them. We went to a restaurant for dinner the other night and as I looked around almost everyone was on their phones. I’m sure you’ve seen that too. Of course in our case, if we don’t look up what we were talking about, we won’t remember when we get home so having a paper and pen with us might be helpful – LOL.

Finally, unplanned. Sometimes you can have the most fun when you are just spontaneous and take a detour on a different road or just head out with no real destination in mind. Spontaneity can be exciting.

I’m calling that done. We’re on our last week with some of the hardest (for me) letters. Have a great Monday!

I was commenting on another blog that it’s been too long since I last swam – and I really miss it. I’m not a fan of pools and chlorine and the coastal waters here are way too cold for a child of the tropics like me, but I’m going to get over my pool phobia and get back in the water again before I completely forget how everything works! Himself would certainly vote for unplugged šŸ™‚ We often go out with only one in the car to call for emergency breakdown recovery.

  4. Iā€™ve never went underwater swimming but Iā€™d love to try We seem to never be unplugged and Iā€™m terrible at unplanned excursions lately. Especially because we so overpack in packing!

LOL I know what you mean about packing a lot. I do that too. Hubby tends to underpack.

      • We even travel with our own coffee potā€¦ some places donā€™t even have one! Hubby travels with electrical gadget bag as our firestick comes along and he canā€™t travel without tools. Then thereā€™s the goodie bagā€¦ funny how most comes back with us as I find things to buy! I need to stop that bag! šŸ˜‚

  5. Unfortunately my world seems to be more unplanned than not and I feel like I’m underwater most of the time and I’d rather just climb back under the covers and snooze for awhile. OK I really just wanted to visit everyone who came to visit me. I know I am breezing through and not really taking the time to think about my comment but trust me when I tell you I am going to get caught up on all the old posts. The annual A2Z is my favorite time of year and I wish it would be more than just one month. I promise I’ll catch up better.

I love what you did there! I know what you mean about not being able to get around. Good thing I saved the master sheet so I can visit people all the time. Now if I could only remember to do that!

Unplanned spontaneous trips are always fun. I too wrote about unplugged yesterday with a different title and in a different angle! Yes nowadays no one enjoys actual talks, rather they would be submerged in mobiles!

  7. U is a tough one… but you did it. I like Unplanned best… that’s one of the many lifestyle benefits of retirement.

I like unplugged. I was back in Palm Springs for the weekend and we took my dad out for breakfast. All the Coachella kids were there, dressed up in crazy costumes. They were sitting at tables focused on phones (probably instagram and tiktok.) Nobody was talking. I should have taken a pic .

U is a tough letter. How about UFO sightings šŸ˜‰
I like the unplugged and unplanned aspect. Sometimes we tend to be overly active and fully booked, which leaves not much room for improvisation.

It’s a little harder to be spontaneous with kids. We can get away a little easier since ours are grown. LOL we have seen some interesting things in the sky but not sure they’re UFOs.

Unplugged. I’m all for that. I’m finding that the longer I have a cell phone, the less I want to have a cell phone! Unplanned is our usual plan when it comes to doing things. As for underwater, I’ll pass.

Hi Ally – of the three, truthfully underwater was my least favorite too. I resisted getting cellphones for the longest time, thinking that only drug dealers needed to be so readily available but I’ll admit they’ve come in handy a lot. Glad I’m not the only one who thinks unplanned is a good idea. Thanks for stopping by my friend!
