Happy Tuesday my A to Z friends. Are you ready for another event at the Mountain Winery? If you wonder why so many of our shows are there, it’s because a few years ago they started doing a “Loyalty Club” program where if you see 4 shows a year you get the special benefit of advanced ticket sales for the next season. So of the 6 or 8 concerts we go to each year, at least 4 of them are there. In reality, the tickets are mostly within reason and so we can usually sit up close, which is where I like to be!
For the letter “H” I’m using the “Hooters.” If you ask me to name a song they did, I’m not sure I’d be able to right off the bat but they were the middle act between Tommy Tutone and Rick Springfield. Once they started singing, I did indeed remember them.
I love the way they use the lights on the trees above the seats. If you want, you can watch the show from that section and still see the beautiful lights of the city in the distance. The Mountain Winery is way up on a mountain top with a gorgeous view of the surrounding area.
Here’s “And We Danced,” which we did!
Definitely a great way to get the crowd going to welcome Rick Springfield.

Having gone to college outside of Philly in the 80s, the hooters were a big part of my college experience

I’ve not heard of the Hooters but this isn’t my genre of music, so not entirely surprising. I wonder if they selected the name before or after the restaurant chain came into being?

I read that they took their name from a nickname they gave to the melodica, a musical instrument they use in their music.

The only song I recognize is “And We Danced,” which I thought was actually a pretty good song.

It was definitely a get up out of your seats song!

They were not really well known to me either, except for a couple songs.

So good you get that special at the venue if you have attended a certain number of concerts. I think that song in the video is the only one I know by them, and it’s a good one. 🙂

I am wondering how good it really is though because sometimes they only show certain seats and if I waited until they went on sale for everyone there might be better ones.

Thanks! For a while I had a really good small camera and getting seats reasonably close helps. The camera broke so for the most recent ones I’ve been using my phone and it’s not quite the same. I may need to invest in another camera.

I use my iphone all the time, but I know what you mean. It’s not as good as a real camera.
