Just Jammin’ June

Well another month is almost gone. As they say, time flies when you’re having fun. That’s what’s been happening for the most part around here.

Starting with a couple trips to the beach with my daughter to catch the sunset. Unfortunately there was a cloud cover close to the ground so we didn’t really catch a full sunset but it was pretty nice anyway.

I love the smell of the sea air and hearing the crash of the waves on the beach. We went down to the edge and let the water come and tickle our toes.

Then hubby and I went to see Ms. Diana Ross at the Mountain Winery. He wasn’t enthused at first but I think he had a good time anyway.

She changed outfits about four times and sang most of her hits.

And then my daughter and I went to a couple Giants games. We won one, lost one and got a free Hawaiian shirt and Kruk and Kuip tiki mugs.

But the most exciting thing is that I WAS ON TV for about 30 seconds! Unfortunately my daughter wasn’t up and dancing with me at the time so she didn’t get on camera.

I started getting texts from my son and friends letting me know they saw me. It was quite fun.

And in between all that I made some things for my Etsy shop and did a pop-up show at the local mall. I didn’t do very well but it was good exposure anyway.

We still have a few more days left this month but I think this is about as much excitement as I can take for now. Let’s see what July will bring. How’s your June been?

Fantastic images! Love the orange sky over the water.
July 4 is Alice in Wonderland Day, a commemoration of when the story was first told to the Liddell sisters by Lewis Carroll in 1862.

Ms. Diana Ross is STILL performing?!! I had no idea. Am happy you got to see her in person. Now I’m going to be humming her hits all day, not a bad thing.

Sounds like a fun June but how can half a year be nearly gone?! We had fun in June too – short holiday with all the kids and grandkids then a trip to Spain for a fantastic wedding.

When you said “Kruk,” I thought you were talking about John Kruk…. Krukow played for the Cubs for a few years when he was starting out. Diana Ross looks pretty darn good, doesn’t she?

She looked great and sounded pretty good too. I remember John Kruk. Krukow and Kuiper are the best announcers.

I think everyone believes that their hometown announcers are the best, and that’s as it should be. We had a guy named Jack Drees in Chicago who was pretty awful. He could make a grand slam sound like a routine out… He did the TV broadcasts, and Harry Caray was on the radio. A lot of people would turn the sound off on the TV and listen to Harry…

We used to get WGN (?) as part of our cable subscription and would love listening to Harry Caray. I have turned the sound off and listened to the Giants games when they are on national TV because those announcers are so awful. Especially did it during the world series when the Giants were in it and Joe Buck was announcing. I didn’t even care if the sound was not quite synched to the action – LOL

I did that when his father was calling the 1991 World Series. Must run in the family. His father used to work with Harry in St. Louis. Harry’s grandson was here for quite some time and has moved on to St. Louis. It’s a game of musical announcer chairs…
